Eurocash - Scam Warning Important Information We are aware of a scam being perpetrated by unknown persons in Russia who are using the Eurocash name and logo. We have been contacted by a number of individuals in the US who have received cheques in an envelope bearing an unauthorised copy of the logo of Eurocash Corporation Ltd. These cheques have been drawn on US bank accounts. The senders of these cheques and the owners of the bank accounts have no connection whatsoever with our company. We have been informed that the cheques are forgeries and have been drawn on a bank account in the US without the knowledge or consent of the owner of the account. We would advise anyone receiving such cheques not to cash or deposit them. Instead we advise reporting the matter to the police, retaining the cheques and envelopes as evidence. As part of this scam, the domain name eurocashvat.net - which has never been owned by Eurocash Corporation Ltd - has been established on a server based in Russia. The contents of our genuine website at eurocashvat.com have been copied in their entirety - without our knowledge or permission - on to eurocashvat.net, which is attempting to pass itself off as being associated with Eurocash Corporation Ltd. The registrants of eurocashvat.net have no connection with Eurocash Corporation Ltd. Emails have been sent from eurocashvat.net to individuals and companies using the Eurocash corporate logo, inviting the recipients to sign up to a business opportunity involving the receiving of payments for a commission. The company sending these emails claims to be called EuroCash. The person sending these emails has no connection with any company in the Eurocash group. We have informed the police and other relevant authorities in the United Kingdom and the USA of these activities. Whilst we have noted that the bogus website mentioned above has since been removed, we would urge all prospective and existing clients to exercise caution in any potentially suspect operations involving the Eurocash name. In the event of any doubt, we advise that clients contact us to verify the authenticity of any communication observed or received. |
